Simulation
As AAI engages in the transition to industry 4.0, we are now utilizing digital simulation for our concept developments and design validations. We use the FEA tools Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Discovery to perform structural and thermal simulations to ensure the most innovative, optimized, and high-quality design solutions.
We also have the capability to perform simulations involving fluids (CFD) and electronics. Digital simulation can be defined as using a computer to imitate an operation to test and analyze a product that does not yet exist. It is a powerful method to find an optimal design solution, as thousands of design iterations, tests, and trials can be performed, even before a single prototype is made.

Electronics and software
Aarbakke Innovation can take care of both electronics and software as part of a development project. We can handle system specification as well as detailed specification for our customers. We function as a system designer and integrator. Our electronics and software resources integrate seamlessly with all AAI’s other technical disciplines, giving our customers a very powerful mix. If no standard modules or software can fulfill the project’s needs, we can design custom PCBs and software and handle all production and future updates.
For bigger projects, we can set up the project with a dedicated project manager. We use three different project models: Waterfall model, V-model, and Agile model. We can also carry out pure R&D projects, including thermomechanical and electromagnetic simulations. We can undertake full-stack software development, including desktop applications and firmware solutions for embedded projects. Using Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, we set up automated build-and-test processes during software development, ensuring code integrity is maintained.
